will launch on Thursday, January 22, 2026

 Designphil Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya, Tokyo; President: Yuri Aida) is a design company that inspires greater enjoyment of daily life and suggests new ways to live through design.

  MD PAPER PRODUCTS—a notebook series which has been developed as part of the product brand MIDORI™ since 2008 with the MD Notebook at its core—will become an independent brand, and the new brand, MD PRODUCT, will launch on Thursday, January 22, 2026.
By further exploring the essential value of writing—its power to organize one’s thoughts and enrich the mind—we will continue to develop as a brand that cultivates “Yohaku” (reflective margins in time) by offering products and experiences that deepen meaningful moments spent facing oneself.

  With the launch of MD PRODUCT, we are renewing our brand concept, business scope, and logo design, as well as relaunching the official website. On the launch day, we will open the official e-commerce site, the MD PRODUCT Online Store, on the new website. Products from the new brand will be available through this online store and at stationery retailers and lifestyle stores in Japan and overseas.

 Additionally, from Saturday, January 24 to Sunday, February 1, 2026, we will hold an official event at SPACE D9 GALLERY (Shinsen, Shibuya, Tokyo) to introduce the new brand. Further details will be announced in a forthcoming press release, on the MD PRODUCT official website, and via the official Instagram account (@mdproduct.official).

From a brand about paper – to a brand about taking a pause
MD PAPER, a single sheet of paper created in the 1960s, marks the origin of MD PRODUCT.
After years of working closely with this paper, we eventually realized the essential value inherent in the act of “writing.”
That value lies in the precious time spent facing oneself:
arranging one’s thoughts and expressing an honest and genuine sensibility.
We call this moment “Yohaku.”
Our desire is to expand the experience of creating this Yohaku, a margin in time,
not just on the surface of paper, but into our spaces, our days, and our lives themselves.
The brand that began with a single sheet of paper is now evolving into a brand that cultivates Yohaku in the heart.

Pursuing only the pure value of making writing comfortable and enjoyable, we explored the exquisite balance to create “MD PAPER”.
The paper is designed so that ink appropriately permeates it, allowing the written characters and drawings to settle smoothly and naturally onto the page.
The paper’s texture, the smooth glide of the pen nib, and the pleasant sound when writing are all integral to the experience.
Even smudges and faint marks become part of its charm and character.
Every element is crafted to enrich the writer’s sensibility.

The design of every MD PRODUCT item is focused on creating space.
For instance, when you open the notebook, what immediately catches your eye is a completely blank page that does not interfere with your sensibility.
Every item is crafted to blend gently into its surroundings.
MD PRODUCT pursues the goal of “facing oneself” through a design that has been refined by subtraction.
