Designphil Inc., a design company headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, and led by president (CEO) Ichiro Aida, is pursuing its corporate mission to create designs that facilitate communication, put more joy into people's lives, and suggest new lifestyles. “TRAVELER'S COMPANY” is pleased to announce a new addition to its line-up of “BRASS PRODUCTS”, the “BRASS FOUNTAIN PEN” (Solid brass, ¥4,800+tax), which will go on sale in Japan and overseas on March 24 (Friday), 2017. We have also improved the “BRASS BALLPOINT PEN” (Solid brass, ¥2,000+tax), “BRASS PENCIL” (Solid brass, ¥1,800+tax) and the “BRASS PENCASE” (Solid brass, ¥3,800+tax)*, making them even easier to use. These three products will also go on sale on March 24 (Friday), 2017. “BRASS PRODUCTS” was launched in 2010 as a stationary brand with a focus on the warmth exuded by brass items, which entices users to take these stationary products on their travels and keep lovingly using them for a long time. As you keep using solid brass, its color takes on a deep and soft hue imbued with a unique beauty and sense of nostalgia. Similar to how the leather-bound “TRAVELER'S notebook” ages over time, the longer you use a “BRASS PRODUCTS” item, the more attached to it you become as it creates its own place in your personal history. The new “BRASS FOUNTAIN PEN” can easily become a compact “carry around” size and then elongated for ease-of-use when writing. It boasts a depth in texture that solid brass acquires over time and use, complemented with a high-quality finish created by skilled Japanese craftsmen. The top of the pen has a ring for attaching a hook or string, so you can clip it to your bag as a key holder or customize it using beads and other items – let your imagination run free! And the pen tip featuring original engraving is designed for fine writing in your daily notebook. Although it’s made of steel, the tip still feels supple and flexible to use. The ring can also be removed for a clip-free pen if you prefer. The pen uses international standard cartridges, available in black and blue-black. A fountain pen that’s fun to write with, which you can take with you every day and everywhere, even when traveling – that’s what we designed the “BRASS FOUNTAIN PEN” to be. We have also made improvements to “BRASS BALLPOINT PEN” as well as “BRASS PENCIL” and “BRASS PENCASE”. The clip on the pen and pencil has been reinforced, so both items can now be attached as is to the thick leather cover of “TRAVELER'S notebook” and taken everywhere. The clip can also be removed by taking off the screwed-on head parts, so the pen and pencil can be used clip-free as required. And the steel parts of the cap are no longer plated, which gives more depth to the steel’s texture as it ages with use together with the solid brass components. We worked with craftsmen at our Japanese factories and made minor adjustments to these items, so now they are even easier to use more lovingly and for longer. The “BRASS PENCASE” is now lighter and more convenient to take on your travels. We have changed the brass thickness, while retaining the case’s beautiful shape created at our pressing factory in Japan. We hope you’ll use it to carry your favorite pens in your everyday bag.
